Red Light
One morning last week, I was almost to the office when all of a sudden I got stuck at a red light. I let out a heavy sigh because I was annoyed that I had to stop. I even shouted at the car ahead of me, “why didn’t you go?”, as if they could hear me. When I thought about the situation afterwards, I had to ask myself why I was so impatient.
I know I am not the only one. There are tons of people who dread red lights. Why? Is it because we are in a hurry? The purpose of the light is to help ensure everyone’s safety and to prevent collisions. There is a purpose behind stopping and waiting. The good news is that the light will inevitably turn green again. You just have to wait your turn. The same can be said for life. Sometimes you may have to put some things on hold for our own benefit. Perhaps the timing is not right or perhaps God is shielding you from something up ahead. Whatever the case may be, be patient in the process. Your turn is coming.
