Don't Waste Your Breath

“This is what God the LORD says-- the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it.” Isaiah 42:5

How many of you have been frustrated when trying to explain something to someone, and they just do not seem to get it? Only to soon thereafter tell yourself, “Don’t waste your breath! It is not worth your time!”

That is not the only way to waste your breath, however. When I read the above scripture, it really wrecked my spirit and quickly put me in my place. I realized that I have been guilty of wasting my breath. How so? The scripture above says that God gives breath to his people. The mere fact that he gives it to us, makes it a gift. Something so simple as breathing, we take for granted.

Each breath you take signifies that God has a plan for you. A plan that will not cease until you take your last breath. The great thing about it is that the gift of breath is given to each and every one of us through no action of our own. You do not have to tell your body to inhale or exhale. Although you may be plagued with a long to-do list, bothered by your current situation, or fed-up with your circumstances. How many of you can admit that if you had to tell yourself to breathe every moment of everyday, you would likely forget? Let us practice being thankful for things we do not have to worry about.

Make each breath you take worthwhile. Even as you face rejection, disappointment, and No’s, you keep on breathing.

Keep Climbing,

Marriah
