Snooze

Do you all remember that saying from back in the day, “You Snooze, You Lose?” How many of you press the snooze button on your alarm when you first wake up? You convince yourself that all you need are five more minutes of sleep, then six more, then before you know it, you have spent so much time snoozing that you are running behind.

Sure squeezing in a few extra minutes of shuteye every once in a while is no big deal; however, it becomes problematic when you begin snoozing in life, as a whole. To snooze is to delay, to put off, or cast away at the present moment for a later time. You begin putting off tasks that you have the ability to complete now because you just don’t feel like doing it right now. Or perhaps you have not forgiven that person who wronged you in yesteryear because you’d rather do it later on in life. Stop sleeping through situations that need to be addressed right now.

My question to you is, why put off for tomorrow that which you can do today? Why delay when you can press play? Press play by taking steps to complete the call that has been placed over your life. In order to make your dreams a reality, you have to be willing to put in the work behind the scenes. There is a call to action that has been placed over your life, and you are fully capable of answering it now. Just listen. You are inserting pauses in your life, snoozing, when you should be working, grinding, and actively doing SOMETHING. Do not snooze through life, missing out on key moments because of lazyness, fatigue, or whatever excuse you are using to justify your delay. In the words of two musical pioneers, “you’ve got to get up, get out, and do something.”

Keep Climbing,

Marriah
